Overview
Sonegan is a small horror project in which I put a lot of love. Inspired by Alien Isolation, I tried to recreate similar vibes just by using a simple blockout and my technical skills. The project is focused on Level Design which is defined by a strategic use of basic geometries, spaces, lights, colors, documents, environment storytelling, voicelines, sounds and specific events. All Design related aspects are carefully treated to ensure a simple but satisfying experience by giving the player both visual and audio feedbacks. The programming part related to AI, Gameplay mechanics and sound system is entirely built with Blueprints in which I’ve also explored ways to optimize the code a bit. Widget Icons are internet resources while SFX and BGM are both internet resources and AI Generated Content, depending on the necessities. Each combination of actions the player can make has been treated to avoid bugs. To build the scene I personally created a simple modular set. The experience has been further optimized by the use of Level Streaming.
