Responsibilities
- Principal Designer: first iterations and development of all Design docs; blockout; implementation of gameplay objects and AI encounters; balancing game objects; iterative playtesting.
- Game Designer: player's 3C; main mechanics and sub-mechanics; inputs per platform; world rules; every game object and its properties in Excel; sketched UI for mechanics.
- Level Designer: modeled landscape, blocked out structures and POI; created level flow; placed AI and Day-Night spawn handling; placed pickup resources.
- System Designer: progression of building and crafting via resources per operation.
- Technical Designer: visual scripted blueprints for prototypes; added features to existing objects.
- Economy Designer: balanced pickup resources progression across exploration.
Overview
Vorax is an Open World Survival Horror game currently in Early Access. As Principal Designer I covered multiple roles throughout the project — from initial concepting to in-engine implementation — and was responsible for the full design pipeline across game design, level design, systems, and economy.
